Contact - About us

Steyning Arts is a society dedicated to fostering arts and crafts in the Steyning area.

The society always welcomes new members. For a small annual subscription, you can show your support for the arts and crafts in the Steyning area and exhibit your work in our arts events.

Steyning Arts is not just a group of artists and makers who exhibit together. We believe that art should be available for all. We predominantly exhibit to sell. Most of our members cannot continue to exist as artists unless we sell our work, as this is how we make our living. However, we are also very aware that art is also about learning and teaching others.

Committee Vacancies:

As a committee, we are aware of our roles but also aware that we can't do everything! We are on the lookout for:

Social Secretary: this role would involve editing a newsletter three times a year and organising social get-togethers for the group.

An overall venue co-ordinator for the summer art trail (every other year). This would involve approaching possible venues and keeping a list of venue contact details. In the run up to the art trail your role would be to make sure all venues are kept up to date with relevant information, documentation and publicity.

An assistant venue co-ordinator to help the above.

Publicity material distribution co-ordinator. This would involve collection of publicity (ie posters/leaflets) from our printers and organising the distribution of publicity using a list of drop off points. This role needs to be taken by a member local to Steyning.

Six Publicity distributors, to collect posters/leaflets from the publicity co-ordinator and deliver/display in the appropriate locations.

Four Exhibition hangers to assist exhibition curators at out of town exhibitions.
