Art Trail – Information for Exhibitors

2019 Art Trail dates

Last year’s Art Trail was a great success.  In 2019 it will be on the weekends of:

  • Saturday 25th – Monday 27th May (Bank Holiday weekend), and
  • Saturday 1st and 2nd June.

The participation fee is £40 per artist.  If you are showing work at a second venue, there will be an additional charge of £10.

You need to be a member of Steyning Arts to apply.  The deadline for applications is 31 January 2019.

Would you like to host a venue?

As usual, we will have a number of central venues for the Art Trail, including the Athletics Club, Steyning Museum, and Church Cottage.  We’re also on the lookout for volunteers to open their houses and studios for the Art Trail.  Venue holders are responsible for ‘curating’ the work they show and choosing which artists to share their venue with. You can invite ‘guest artists’ who are not members of Steyning Arts to exhibit at their venue – but all artists must pay the £40 participation fee to help cover publicity and other costs.

Venue holders can decide if you wish to set any additional terms – for example charging commission, or asking for a small contribution to cover cleaning costs.  You will also be responsible for arranging a rota for staffing the exhibition.

Standard opening hours for the Art Trail are 11am to 5pm each day.

The Steyning Arts ‘venue team’ (Tamar and Jean) will help match artists with venues, and advise venue holders on how to make the most of their exhibit.  They will be in touch to discuss details after applications have been collated.
